About Me

I'm Claire Bennett, a licensed psychologist in the State of Vermont (VT Lic. #00000). I work with adults and teens at my office in the New North End of Burlington, and also online.

My approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy. In practice, that means a collaborative process: we set therapy goals together and look at thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at your own pace, respecting your story.

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • In-person and online sessions
  • Ongoing clinical supervision

How It Works

  1. First Contact

You send a message by text or call, and we schedule a time for your first session.

  2. Intake Session

We talk about what brought you here, and I answer any questions about therapy.

  3. Ongoing Care

We decide together how often to meet and continue with weekly sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need therapy?

You don't need to be in crisis to start. If something has been on your mind, the first session is a good time to talk it through and decide together whether therapy makes sense right now.

How long does the process take?

There's no set timeline. The length depends on your goals and is reviewed together as sessions continue.

Does online therapy work the same way?

Online therapy follows the same professional standards as in-person care. You'll need a private space, headphones, and a stable internet connection.

Is what I share in session confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a professional and ethical duty, and can only be broken in situations required by law or professional ethics codes.

Do you accept insurance?

Sessions are private pay. I provide a receipt (superbill) so you can request reimbursement from your insurance, if your plan offers that option.
